The closing ceremony of the 31st Summer Universiade was held Sunday evening in Chengdu, Sichuan province. Chinese State Councilor Chen Yiqin attended the closing ceremony.

“Chengdu achieves dreams”. Over the past 12 days, 6,500 athletes from 113 countries and regions have displayed their youthful strength and splendor, writing a new chapter in youth,
unity and friendship with full enthusiasm and excellent condition. Adhering to the concept of simple, safe and wonderful hosting, China has earnestly honored its solemn commitments
and won wide praise from the General Assembly family and the international community. The Chinese sports delegation won 103 gold MEDALS and 178 MEDALS, ranking first in the
gold medal and medal table.

On August 8, the closing ceremony of the 31st Summer Universiade was held in Chengdu open-air Music Park. At night, the Chengdu open-air Music Park shines brightly, brimming with
youthful vitality and flowing with feelings of unparting. Fireworks burst out the countdown number in the sky, and the audience shouted in unison with the number, and the “sun God
bird” flew to the closing ceremony. The closing ceremony of the Chengdu Universiade has officially begun.

All rise. In the magnificent national anthem of the People’s Republic of China, the bright five-star red flag rises slowly. Mr. Huang Qiang, Executive Chairman of the Organizing Committee
of the Chengdu Universiade, delivered a speech to express his gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the Universiade.

Melodious music played, the Eastern Shu style guqin and the Western violin sang “Mountains and Rivers” and “Auld Lang Syne”. The unforgettable moments of the Chengdu Universiade
appear on the screen, reproducing the precious memories of Chengdu and the Universiade, and remembering the affectionate embrace between China and the world.
