Apple may release the M4 chip Mac at the end of the year, which will focus on AI

Mark Gurman reports that Apple is ready to produce the next generation M4 processor, which will have at least three major versions to update every Mac model.

It is reported that Apple plans to release new Macs with M4 from the end of this year through early next year, including a new iMac, low-end 14-inch MacBook Pro,high-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro and Mac mini.

2025 will also bring more M4 Macs: spring updates to the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air, mid-year updates to the Mac Studio, and later updates to the Mac Pro.

The M4 series of processors will include an entry-level version (codenamed Donna) and at least two higher performance versions (codenamed Brava and Hidra),and Apple will highlight the capabilities of these processors in AI and how they integrate with the next version of macOS.

As part of the upgrade, Apple is considering making its highest-end Mac desktops support 512 GB of RAM, up from 192 GB currently available for the Mac Studio and Mac Pro.

Gurman also mentioned the new Mac Studio, which Apple is testing with versions of the yet-to-be-released M3-series processor and M4 Brava processor revamp.
