Apart from PVC, we also produce cards in polycarbonate (PC) and Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol(PETG). Both these plastic materials make the cards particularly resistant to heat.

So, what is PETG and why should you consider it for your plastic cards? Interestingly enough, PETG is made from polyester (to be precise, thermoplastic copolyester) not PVC, and it is 100 percent recyclable AND biodegradable. Yet, it still acts a lot like PVC, so it’s pretty tough and resists impact. Printing with PETG is easy and designs look great! Check out how great the designs look on PETG.

PC and PETG cards are therefore suitable for hot region, for example the United Arab Emirates or South America, where temperatures in summer can rise to 40 degrees Celsius, or even to 65 degree Celsius inside cars. PVC starts to melt at 60 degrees.

Our PC and PETG cards are heat-resistant up to 120 degrees Celsius. That means that, in some extreme weather conditions, an official ID card can be left behind in the car during a lunch break without ha to worry about it, and that a card machine in a Toronto car park does not need to be emptied until the evening. These cards are also exceptionally tough, so they can be used for up to ten years.
