Amazon Bedrock has launched a new service, Amazon Bedrock, to make machine learning and AI easier for customers and lower the barrier to entry for developers.

Amazon Bedrock is a new service that gives customers API access to base models from Amazon and leading AI startups, including AI21 Labs, Anthropic and Stability AI. Amazon Bedrock is one of the easiest ways for customers to build and scale generative AI applications using a foundation model, lowering the barrier to entry for all developers. Customers can access a robust set of text and image base models through Bedrock (the service is currently offering a limited preview).

At the same time, Amazon Cloud Technology customers can use Amazon EC2 Trn1 instances powered by Trainium, which can save up to 50% on training costs compared to other EC2 instances. Once a generative AI model is deployed at scale,most of the costs will be incurred by the running and reasoning of the model. At this point, customers can use Amazon EC2 Inf2 instances powered by Amazon Inferentia2, which are specifically optimized for large-scale generative AI applications running hundreds of billions of parameter models.
